02/03/2024 @ 03:41 hours –South Avenue East at Walnut Avenue

Arrested:            

Lawrence Hanna, 72, Linden, NJ

Arrested by:      

Patrolman James Wilson III

Charges:             

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 02/03/2024 at approximately 03:41 hours, police were dispatched to the area of South Avenue at Walnut Avenue on the report of a motor vehicle stopped in the lane of travel. Upon arrival officers located an occupied 2016 Red Honda stopped in the middle of the intersection of South Avenue and Walnut Avenue. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer James Wilson III arrested Lawrence Hanna of Linden NJ for driving while intoxicated.  Hanna was processed and provided a municipal court appearance date.  In addition, Hanna was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, delaying traffic and failure to submit to breath samples.

 

02/06/2024 @ 16:06 hours – First block of South Avenue East

Arrested:            

Joseph Ruffin, 57, Newark, NJ

Charges:

Shoplifting

Remarks:            

On 02/06/2024 at approximately 16:06 hours, subsequent to an on-scene investigation Detective Jason D’Agostino arrested Joseph Ruffin, 57, Newark, NJ for shoplifting. Detective D’Agostino was in a business establishment within the 10 block of South Avenue when he observed Ruffin placing several items into a bag and exiting the store. After confirming with store employees that no payment had been made Ruffin was placed under arrest. Ruffin was subsequently processed and provided a municipal court appearance date.

 

02/09/2024 @ 02:55 hours –North Avenue West at Lincoln Avenue West

Arrested:            

Jessica Arredondo, 41, Colonia, NJ

Arrested by:      

Patrolman Antonio Bellomo

Charges:

Driving while intoxicated

Remarks:            

On 02/09/2024 at approximately 02:55 hours, police stopped a 2020 Volkswagen on North Avenue West at Lincoln Avenue West for several motor vehicle violations.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Antonio Bellomo arrested the driver, Jessica Arredondo, 41, of Colonia, NJ, for driving while intoxicated. Arredondo was processed and provided a municipal court appearance date. In addition, Arredondo was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to wear seatbelt and maintenance of lamps.

 

02/13/2024 @ 23:04 hours –South Avenue West at Elise Street

Arrested:

Terrence McDonald, 34, Elizabeth, NJ

Arrested by:

Patrolman Joshua Sousa

Charges:

Driving while intoxicated

Remarks :

On 02/13/2024 at approximately 23:04 hours, police stopped a 2016 Nissan on West South Avenue at Elise Street for moving and equipment obstructions.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Joshua Sousa arrested the driver, Terrence McDonald, 34, of Elizabeth, NJ, for driving while intoxicated. McDonald was processed and provided a municipal court appearance date. In addition, McDonald was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, reckless driving, obstructed view, and driving while suspended.
