02/16/2024 @ 1319 hours- East North Avenue at Elizabeth Avenue

Brianna Blair, 20, Lauderhill, Florida

Receiving Stolen Property

Remarks:        

On 02/16/2024 at 1319 hours D/Lieutenant Spencer Durkin observed a 2023 Jeep at the intersection of North Avenue East at Elizabeth Avenue. This Jeep matched the description of a stolen Jeep that had been broadcasted earlier in the shift. D/Lieutenant Durkin confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen in Palm Beach County, Florida and conducted a motor vehicle stop in a parking lot on North Avenue East. D/Lieutenant Durkin along with D/Sergeant Thomas Stiansen placed the driver of the vehicle, Elijah Champagne, 23, Hallandale, Florida under arrest. In addition, the seven occupants of the vehicle, Ariana Levy, 20, Lauderhill, Florida, Gabriela Granados, 18, Margate, Florida, Lamathe K-Ci, 23, Miramar, Florida, Trened Desrosier, 23, Miami Gardens, Florida, Alex Chisholm, 22 Winston Salem, North Carolina, Menelek Denis, 22, Lauderhill, Florida, and Brianna Blair, 20, Lauderhill, Florida were all placed under arrest without incident. All suspects were charged with Receiving Stolen Property and released pending a Superior Court date.

 

02/22/2024 @ 1435 hours- 700 Block Walnut Avenue

Arrested:        

Andrea Ivey, 30, Newark NJ

Charges:         

Theft

Remarks:

On 2/22/2024 at 1435 hours police responded to the 700 block of Walnut Avenue on the report of a residential package theft.  After an investigation, on 02/28/2024 Detective Michael Dubitsky arrested Andrea Ivey, 30, Newark NJ for theft.  Ivey was charged and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date.

 

2/22/2024 @ 2329 hours- Centennial Avenue at South Avenue East

Arrested:

Ambyre Daniel, 46, Maplewood, NJ

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving

Remarks:

On 2/22/2024 Officer Sousa responded to the intersection of South Avenue East at Centennial Avenue on a report of a driver who had fallen asleep in a lane of traffic. Upon arrival he observed the driver, Ambyre Daniel, 46, Maplewood, NJ, seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was in the roadway. After a brief investigation Daniel was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. She was released pending a municipal court hearing.

 

02/25/2024 @ 0206 hours- North Avenue East

Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Unclear Plate

Remarks:

On 2/25/2024 at 0206 hours Officer Gianna Ricerca stopped a vehicle on North Avenue East for crossing the double yellow line. After a brief investigation the drive, Engel Rivas, 38, Roselle, was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, and unclear Plate. Rivas was released on a summons pending a municipal court hearing.

 

02/28/2024 @ 0922 hours- Buchanan Street at Centennial Avenue

Arrested:        

Usama Khamis, 41, Flanders, NJ

Arrested by:   

Detective Timothy Handy

Charges:         

Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, Unsafe Lane Change

Remarks:

On 2/28/2024 at 0922 hours Detective Timothy Handy stopped a vehicle on Buchanan Street at Centennial Avenue for a lane change violation.  After a brief investigation the drive, Usama Khamis, 41, Flanders NJ, was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Test, and Unsafe Lane Change. Khamis was released on a summons pending a municipal court hearing.
