02/29/2024 at 2259 hours- East North Avenue

Arrested:            

Juan Duy,46, Newark, NJ

Arrested by:

Charges:             

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 02/29/2024 at 2259 hours police stopped a motor vehicle on East North Avenue after the driver was observed crossing the lane markers. Subsequent to a brief investigation the driver, Juan Duy, 46, Newark, NJ was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He was also issued summonses for Refusal to Submit to A Breath Test, Careless Driving, Failure to Produce a Document, and Failure to Maintain a Lane. Duy was released pending a Municipal Court Hearing.

 

03/06/2024 at 1521 hours- South Avenue West

Arrested:            

Alexander Gazsi, 33, Cranford

Arrested by:

Detective Jason D’Agostino

Charges:

Shoplifting/Possession of CDS

Remarks:            

On 03/06/2024 at 1521 hours Detective Jason D’Agostino observed a customer inside of a South Avenue retail store placing items into his pockets and then exiting the store without paying for them. Detective D’Agostino placed the suspect, Alexander Gazsi, 33, Cranford, under arrest without incident after he exited the store. Gazsi was charged with Shoplifting and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was released on a summons pending a Municipal Court Hearing.

 

03/07/2024 at 1126 hours- East North Avenue

Arrested:

Justin Browne, 44, Scotch Plains NJ

Arrested by:

Officer Christopher Gross

Charges: Possession of CDS/Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks :

On 03/07/2024 at 1126 hours police responded to the 400 block of East North Avenue on a report of a suspicious male. Upon arrival Officer Christopher Gross observed the suspect, Justin Browne, 44, Scotch Plains, NJ, dropping garbage on the ground. Subsequent to a brief investigation Browne was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Paraphernalia. Browne was released on a summons pending a Municipal Court Hearing.

 

03/09/2024 at 0102 hours- South Avenue East

Arrested:            

Alexander Mitchell, 33, Staten Island, NY

Arrested by:      

Officer Joshua Sousa

Charges:             

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 03/09/2024 at 0102 hours police stopped a vehicle for crossing over the centerline on South Avenue East. After a brief investigation, Officer Joshua Sousa placed the driver, Alexander Mitchell, 33, Staten Island, NY, under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Mitchell was additionally charged with Careless Driving and Delaying Traffic. Mitchell was released pending a Municipal Court Hearing.

 

03/11/2024 at 1809 hours- South Avenue West

Arrested:

David Rivera, 40, Rahway, NJ

Arrested by:

Charges:

Shoplifting

Remarks:

On 03/11/2024 at 1809 hours Detective D’Agostino observed a suspect inside of a retail store on South Avenue placing items in a reusable shopping bag. The suspect, David Rivera, 40, Rahway, NJ, then exited the store without paying for the items. Rivera was placed under arrest without incident and charged with Shoplifting. He was released on a summons pending a Municipal Court Hearing.
