08/19/2024 at 0200 hours- North Avenue East at Carpenter Place

Arrested:

Juan F. Abarua-Guerrero, 43, Bayonne NJ

Charges:         

Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving

Remarks:

On 08/19/2024 at 0200 hours police stopped a vehicle on North Avenue East for Careless Driving. Subsequent to an investigation that was conducted by Officer Nicolette Tufano, the driver, Juan F. Abarua-Guerrero, 43, Bayonne, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Careless Driving. Abarua-Guerrero was released on a summons pending a Municipal Court hearing.

 

08/19/2024 at 1403 hours- South Avenue East at Thomas Street

Receiving Stolen Property

Remarks:

On 08/19/2024 at 1403 hours Officer Christopher Gross stopped a vehicle on South Avenue East that was reported stolen in New York. The driver, David Bamgboshe, 20, Elizabeth, NJ, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property. He was released on a summons pending a Superior Court Hearing.

 

08/24/2024 at 2048 hours- Lincoln Avenue West at Benjamin Street

Charges:

Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Possession of an Open Container

Remarks:

On 08/24/2024 police stopped a vehicle on Lincoln Avenue West for Careless Driving. After a brief investigation the driver, Carlos Flores, 40, Linden, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, and Possession of an Open Container. Flores was released on a summons pending a Municipal Court hearing.

 

08/27/2024 at 0047 hours- Jackson Drive

Charges:         

Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Hindering Apprehension

Remarks:

On 08/27/2024 at 0047 hours Officer Liam Duffy investigated a suspicious vehicle on Jackson Drive. Subsequent to q brief investigation, the passenger, Corey Green, 27, Irvington, NJ, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Hindering an Investigation. Green was released on a summons pending a Superior Court Hearing.

08/06/2024 @ 12:30 hours – Business establishment with the 10 block of South Avenue West

Charged:             

Stephen Anderson, 29, Brooklyn, NY

Theft by Deception and Credit Card Offenses

Remarks:

On 07/16/2024 at approximately 18:30 hours, police were dispatched to a business establishment located within the 10 block of South Avenue West reporting a past incident of theft. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Cyber Crimes Detective Michael Dubitsky a suspect was identified. Stephen Anderson, 29, Brooklyn, NY was charged with theft by deception and credit card offenses. Anderson was issued a superior court date appearance.

 

08/20/2024 @ 12:30 hours – Business establishment with the 200 block of South Avenue East

Shoplifting

Remarks:

On 08/13/2024 at approximately 17:13 hours, police were dispatched to a business establishment located within the 200 block of South Avenue East reporting a past incident of shoplifting. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Detective Jason D’Agostino a suspect was identified. Tyreek Lovett, 23, Avenel, NJ was charged with shoplifting and issued a municipal court date appearance.

 

08/21/2024 @ 16:00 hours – Business establishment with the 500 block of South Avenue East

Shnaider Dumeus, 22, Irvington, NJ

Theft by Deception and Credit Card Offenses

Remarks:

On 05/22/2024 at approximately 10:51 hours, police were dispatched to a business establishment located within the 500 block of South Avenue East reporting a past incident of theft. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Cyber Crimes Detective Michael Dubitsky a suspect was identified. Shnaider Dumeus, 22, Irvington, NJ was charged with theft by deception and credit card offenses. Dumeus was issued a superior court date appearance.

 

08/23/2024 @ 12:00 hours – Business establishment with the 10 block of Commerce Drive

Motor Vehicle Theft

Remarks:

On 08/07/2024 at approximately 12:00 hours, police were dispatched to a business establishment located within the 10 block of Commerce Drive on the report of a motor vehicle theft. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Detective Robert Jordan and with the assistance of the Roselle Police Department a suspect was identified and the vehicle was later recovered. Jose Flores-Lozano, 18, Linden, NJ was charged with motor vehicle theft was issued a superior court date appearance.

 

08/27/2024 @ 15:00 hours – Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road

Remarks:

On 08/16/2024 at approximately 23:00 hours, Officer Liam Duffy attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a silver Honda Civic on Centennial Ave near Raritan Road after observing the vehicle conduct numerous motor vehicle violations. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed onto the Garden State Parkway. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Lieutenant Durkin and with the assistance of the Linden Police Department a suspect was identified. Riley Greaves, 20, Linden, NJ was charged with eluding and issued a superior court date appearance.
