Remarks:
On 08/27/2025 at approximately 07:56 hours, police stopped a 2014 Infinity near the intersection of South Avenue East and Thomas Street for a seat belt violation. After an investigation by Officer Gross, the driver, Syquan Singletary, 42, of Jersey City, was placed under arrest for Possession of CDS- MDMA/Ecstasy and an outstanding warrant. Singletary was processed, provided a Superior Court appearance date, and turned over to the custody of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, Wells was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

Remarks:
On 07/21/25 at approximately 11:12 hours, police stopped a 2024 GMC near the intersection of North Avenue East and Forest Avenue for a cell phone violation. After an investigation by Officer Cook, a passenger in the vehicle, Brenton McPherson, 40, of Helmetta, was placed under arrest for Hindering Apprehension and being a Fugitive from Justice. McPherson was wanted by the Delaware State Police for 1st Degree Identity Theft, as well as the Limerick Township, Pennsylvania Police for Forgery. McPherson was processed, provided a municipal court date, and transported to the Union County Jail to await extradition to Delaware and Pennsylvania.

On 08/29/2025 police units were dispatched to the 800 block of Springfield Avenue on the report of a package theft. During their investigation, responding officers located a suspect fleeing the scene in possession of the stolen package. The suspect was identified as Romual Videau, 32, of Phillipsburg, NJ. Videau was placed under arrest, processed, and provided a Superior Court date.

On 08/31/2025 at approximately 22:11 hours, police stopped a 2023 Chrysler near the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a lane violation. After an investigation by Officer King, Jarrod Coleman, 35, of Irvington, was placed under arrest for Possession of CDS- Cocaine, and CDS - Heroin. Coleman was processed, and provided a Superior Court date. Coleman was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane, failure to wear seatbelt, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

On 09/06/2025 at approximately 02:38 hours, police stopped a 2001 BMW near the intersection of North Avenue East and Forest Avenue for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Officer Haddad arrested the driver, Alec Winfield, 31, of Bayonne, NJ, for possession of CDS – Cocaine. Winfield was processed and provided a Superior Court date. Winfield was also issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and improper display of license plates.

On 09/08/2025 at approximately 23:20 hours police stopped a 2021 Infiniti on North Avenue East near the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue for failure to stop or yield, as well as an equipment violation. Subsequent to an investigation, Officers King and Korzeneski arrested Ansuman Sibide, 21, of Newark, NJ for possession of CDS – heroin and cocaine. Additionally, they arrested Baguilma Daliwa, 20, of Newark, NJ, for Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. Both Sibide and Daliwa were processed and provided court dates.
09/10/2025 @ 10:29 hours – North Avenue East at Carpenter Place

On 09/10/2025 at approximately 10:29 hours, police units were dispatched to a business on the ten block of South Avenue West on the report of a Shoplifting. Responding units learned the suspect fled, and broadcast a description of the vehicle and suspect. The suspect was located by police and stopped on North Avenue East in the area of Carpenter Place. The suspect, Jillian Spaziani, 40, of Roselle Park was found in possession of stolen merchandise, and arrested by Off. Ricerca. Spaziani was processed and issued a Municipal Court date.

On 09/15/2025, police units took a report of a stolen bicycle from the Cranford Train Station. Det. D’Agostino was assigned to investigate the theft. During his follow up investigation, on 09/17/2025, Det. D’Agostino located the suspect, Carle D’Angelo, 43, of Scotch Plains, NJ, on the 400 block of North Avenue East. Det. D’Agostino arrested Carle, and returned the stolen property to the rightful owner. Carle was processed, and issued a Superior Court date.

Gerrity arrested the driver, Bree Helme, 37, of Newark, NJ for Possession of CDS - cocaine. Helme was processed and issued a Superior Court date. In addition, Helme, was issued a motor vehicle summons for a seatbelt violation.

On 09/19/2025 at approximately 00:14 hours police stopped a 2022 Mercedes on the North Avenue East in the area of Alden Street for an equipment violation. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Sousa arrested the driver, Camille Shorten, 22, of Little Falls, NJ for Possession of CDS – Xanax and prescription legend drugs. Shorten was processed and issued a Superior Court date. In addition Shorten, was issued a motor vehicle summons for improper display of registration plates and an open container violation.
