On 09/27/2024 at approximately 05:32 hours, police were dispatched to a multi family residence located within the 500 block of South Avenue East reporting a past incident of theft. Subsequent to a follow-up investigation by Detective Michael O’Neil a suspect was identified. Hidekel Garcia-Caraballo, 26, Trenton, NJ was charged with theft and issued a Municipal Court appearance date.
10/09/2024 @ 01:31 hours – Raritan Road at Centennial Avenue

On 10/09/2024 at approximately 01:31 hours, police stopped a 2020 Honda on Raritan Road at Centennial Avenue for an improper safety glass and an inoperable headlight. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer King arrested the driver, Roamine Sharrier, 21, Newark, NJ, for Distribution of CDS-cocaine. Sharrier was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Sharrier was issued motor vehicle summonses for improper window tint, unlicensed driver, maintenance of lamps and CDS in a motor vehicle.

On 10/11/2024 at approximately 01:08 hours, police stopped a 2015 Kia on North Avenue at Carpenter Place for failing to maintain its lane of travel. After an investigation by Officer Tufano, the driver, Jonathan Carreto, 43, of Roselle Park, NJ was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Carreto was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Carreto was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failing to maintain lane, and refusing to submit to breath tests.

10/20/2024 at approximately 02:08 hours, police stopped a 2003 Acura on North Avenue at Elizabeth for evading a traffic control signal. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Freeman arrested the driver, Gethro Lexeus, 47, Hillside, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Gethro was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Gethro was issued motor vehicle summonses for evading a traffic control signal, careless driving, cell phone usage while driving, and refusal to submit to breath tests.

On 10/22/2024 at approximately 12:51 hours, police were dispatched to a residence on Lincoln Park East for a suspicious person on the property. After being provided with a suspect description, Detective O’Neil located the individual on High Street. Subsequent to an investigation, Kalby Sandoval, 38, Cranford, NJ was arrested for criminal trespass and obstruction. Sandoval was processed and issued a Municipal Court date.

On 10/25/2024 at approximately 00:29 hours, police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Avenue on the report of a single car motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Ricerca arrested the driver, Edwin Romero, 45, Cranford, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Romero was processed and provided a municipal court appearance date. In addition, Romero was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving, and failure to maintain lane.

On 10/25/2024 at approximately 13:37 hours, police stopped a 2018 Nissan Rogue within the 50 block of South Avenue east after being alerted that the vehicle was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident from another jurisdiction. The driver, Elijah Walker, 25, Red Bank, NJ initially fled from the stop on foot and was later located by Officer Michael Gamba after a brief foot chase. Walker was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. Walker was processed and issued a Municipal Court appearance date.

On 10/28/2024 at approximately 23:58 hours, police stopped a 2016 Nissan on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway #137 exchange for an inoperable headlight. Following an investigation by Officer Bellomo, the driver, Jonathan Benigno, 38, Lake Hiwatha, NJ was arrested for possession of CDS-crystal methamphetamine. Benigno was processed and issued a Superior Court appearance date. Benigno was also issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamp, failure to wear seatbelt and CDS in a motor vehicle.

On 11/03/2024 at approximately 01:31 hours, police observed a 2011 Jeep with heavy front-end damage traveling on Centennial Avenue. Officer Jason Ingram located this vehicle and, subsequent to a motor vehicle investigation, arrested driver Josue Castrocoto, 28, North Plainfield, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Castrocoto was processed and issued a Municipal Court date. Additionally, Castrocoto was issued motor vehicle summonses for carless driving, failure to maintain lane, and for failing to observe a traffic control device.
