Remarks:
On 06/11/2025 as a result of a follow-up investigation by Detective D’Agostino into theft and credit card offenses at a North Avenue business, Anthony Ciuba, 61, Cranford, NJ was charged. Ciuba was charged with various credit card offenses and receiving stolen property. Ciuba was provided with a Superior Court appearance date.

On 06/12/2025 at approximately 22:46 hours police stopped a 2021 Hyundai on Myrtle Street for conducting an improper turn. Subsequent to an investigation, Lieutenant Luedecker arrested the driver, Jose Canales, 51, Roselle, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Canales was processed and issued a Municipal Court date. In addition, Canales was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and improper turn.

On 06/14/2025 at approximately 01:21 hours, police located a single car motor vehicle crash on North Avenue near Alden Street. After an investigation by Officer Drew, the driver, Kirk Palmarozzo, 26, Pompton Plains, NJ was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Palmarozzo was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, Palmarozzo was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and refusal to submit breath samples.

On 06/14/2025 at approximately 21:41 hours, police were dispatched to North Avenue at Carpenter Place on the report of a motor vehicle crash. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Tufano arrested one driver, Taylor Young, 27, Somerset, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Young was processed and issued a Municipal Court date. In addition, Young was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, reckless driving, suspended driver and open container of alcohol.

On 06/15/2025 at approximately 02:34 hours, police stopped a 2014 Ford on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway #137 exchange for numerous motor vehicle violations. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Tufano arrested the driver, Lavetta Bonaparte, 33, East Orange, NJ for driving while intoxicated. Bonaparte was processed and issued a Municipal Court date. In addition, Bonaparte, was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breath samples, failure to keep right and failure to signal turn.

On 06/16/2025 at approximately 16:07 hours, police stopped a 2022 Kia on South Avenue at South Union Avenue after being alerted that the vehicle had been previously been entered as a stolen vehicle. Subsequent to an investigation by Detective Handy, the driver, David Perez, 19, Elizabeth, NJ, and passengers Bryan Torres, 18, Roselle, NJ, Justin Rojas, 23, Roselle Park, NJ and a 16-year-old juvenile were all arrested for receiving stolen property. The three adults and the juvenile were processed and issued a Superior Court appearance date.

On 06/20/2025 at approximately 01:42 hours, police stopped a 2017 Kia on South Avenue at High Street for failure to signal turn and delaying traffic. Subsequent to an investigation by Officer Ricerca, the driver, Carlos Contreras, 34, North Plainfield, NJ was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Subsequent to being arrested, Contreras was also charged with obstruction. Contreras was processed issued a Municipal Court date. In addition, Contreras was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to signal turn, delaying traffic, driving without a license, and suspended registration.

Subsequent to an investigation by Officer Ricerca, the driver, Evelin Rivera, 28, Carteret, NJ was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Rivera was processed and issued a Municipal Court date. In addition, Rivera, was issued motor vehicle summonses for delaying traffic, failure to illuminate headlamps, and refusal to submit to breath samples.

After an investigation by Sgt. Donnerstag, the driver, Cirilo Perezgomez, 39, Brooklyn, NY was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and for possession of CDS- cocaine. Perezgomez was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Perezgomez was issued motor vehicle summonses for no front license plate, improper window tint, open container of alcohol, CDS in a motor vehicle, and suspended driver.

On 07/15/2025 at approximately 18:36 hours, police stopped a 2005 Chrysler on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway #137 exchange for improper window tint and an inoperable brake light. After an investigation by Officer Tufano, the driver, Elijah Gaffney, 28, Roselle, NJ and passenger, Amara Washington, 26, Newark, NJ were placed under arrest for possession of CDS-ecstacy with the intent to distribute. Both Gaffney and Washington were processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Gaffney was issued motor vehicle summonses for improper window tint, maintenance of lamps, CDS in a motor vehicle and suspended driver.
