FROM CRANFORD'S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: WEATHER UPDATE, APRIL 30TH, 2023.
· NWS has issued a flood watch for New Jersey from Noon until this evening, primarily due to the threat of Flash Flooding.
· An additional inch to 1.5 inches of rain is possible this afternoon and this evening.
· Flash Flooding is possible during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall. If you are out this afternoon and evening, use caution while driving and do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
· The most flood-prone areas may experience minor flooding along the river bank and streams through this evening.
· Pay attention to news media and weather sources. A flood warning will be issued if flash flooding is occurring or imminent. If a flood warning is issued, use extreme caution while driving. Flood warning messages are automatically re-broadcast via the Nixle platform and Cranford Police App for your convenience.
