Cranford Officer Honored by MADD for DWI Enforcement Efforts
Last month, Officer Gianna Ricerca of the Cranford Police Department was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) New Jersey during its annual Law Enforcement Recognition ceremony for her efforts to remove impaired drivers from local roadways.
The ceremony was held on June 12th 2026 in New Brunswick and included the recognition of officers from local police departments and New Jersey State Police troopers for outstanding DWI enforcement and impaired driving prevention efforts during the 2025 calendar year. In 2025, Ricerca made 11 arrests for driving while intoxicated. During the same period, the Cranford Police Department made a total of 62 DWI arrests.
"Every day, our officers are out there proactively enforcing traffic laws, and Officer Ricerca's recognition by MADD indicates her professional commitment to removing impaired motorists from our roadways," Chief Matthew R. Nazzaro said. "I am grateful for all of the work our officers do daily to keep our streets safe."
