1 Arrested for Possession of a large quantity of Narcotics and a Firearm Following a Cranford Police Motor Vehicle Stop
An Oklahoma man was found to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine and a firearm during a motor vehicle stop on Centennial Avenue on August 17, 2025.
At approximately 9:05 PM, Officer Rameil King stopped a white 2012 Nissan for several motor vehicle violations in the area of Centennial Avenue and Myrtle Street. During the motor vehicle investigation, Officer King located approximately four kilograms of suspected cocaine. The suspect, later identified as, Miqueas Masedo, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was later obtained for the vehicle resulting in the discovery of an additional kilogram of suspected cocaine as well as a loaded Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun containing 8 rounds of ammunition.
Masedo was charged with numerous narcotics distribution offenses and possession of a firearm. At the time of this arrest, Masedo, was committed to the Union County Jail where he remains detained.

2 Arrested on Firearms and Narcotics Charges During Cranford Police Motor Vehicle Stop
A Union County man was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics during a motor vehicle stop on Centennial Avenue on Thursday, September 25th 2025.
At approximately 10:17 PM, Officer Joshua Sousa stopped a gray 2008 Honda Accord for motor vehicle violations on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road. During the motor vehicle investigation, Officer Sousa located a loaded firearm and narcotics on one of the vehicles occupants. The suspect, later identified as, Richard Walker, 19, of Rahway, New Jersey, was taken into custody without incident. Additionally, a second occupant, Ryan Billups, 19, of Tabernacle, New Jersey was also found to be in possession of narcotics.
Billups was charged with possession of prescription narcotics and later released from custody pending a Union County Superior Court date.
Walker was found to be in possession of a Lorcin .380 semi-automatic handgun with 5 rounds of ammunition, and prescription narcotics.
Walker was charged with Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of prescription narcotics. At the time of this arrest, Walker, was committed to the Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.

1 Arrested on Firearms Charges During Cranford Police Motor Vehicle Stop
An Essex County man was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm during a motor vehicle stop on Raritan Road on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
At approximately 12:24 AM, Officer Ryan McSharry and Officer Jean Carlos Montero stopped a black 2011 Acura for motor vehicle violations in the area of Raritan Road and Coleman Avenue. During the motor vehicle investigation, Officer’s located a loaded firearm. The suspect, later identified as, Jni Knox, 25, of Nutley, New Jersey, was taken into custody without incident.
Knox was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun containing 8 rounds of ammunition.
Knox was charged with Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of large capacity magazines. At the time of this arrest, Knox, was committed to the Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.
