Following a brief foot pursuit during the overnight hours, three Middlesex County men were charged with burglarizing a commercial business in Cranford.
On September 1st, 2022 at approximately 0216 hours, Officers Robert Chamra and James T. Wilson III were dispatched to a commercial business located on the 100 block of South Avenue West on the report of three trespassers observed pulling wires to the security system from the commercial building.
Upon the arrival of responding units, Officer Chamra observed multiple suspects fleeing the scene on South Avenue towards Lincoln Avenue West. Officer Michael Gamba, Officer Nicholas Cook and Sgt. Steven D’Ambola arrived on scene to assist units with locating the burglary suspects. After a brief foot chase, Joel Diaz, 23, Beilyn Gomez, 21, and Andres Guillen, 19 – all of New Brunswick, New Jersey – were taken into custody for burglary and criminal mischief.
Diaz, Gomez and Guillen were all charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest in the 4th Degree, and Criminal Mischief. They were processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date.
