Cranford Police Arrest Blotter

11/04/2022 @ 2255 hours – Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road

Arrested:       

Stephanie Harvatt, 36, Cape May Courthouse, NJ; Gary Nigro, 47, North Arlington NJ

Arrested by:  

Patrolman Christopher Gross

Charges:         

Possession of CDS - Prescription Drugs, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Remarks:

On 11/04/2022 at approximately 2255 hours, police stopped a 2016 Black GMC for a moving violation.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Christopher Gross arrested the driver, Stephanie Harvatt of Cape May Courthouse NJ, and the passenger, Gary Nigro of North Arlington NJ, for possession of CDS - Prescription Pills and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Both Harvatt and Nigro were processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date.  In addition, Harvatt was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane, failure to possess credentials, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

 

11/07/2022 @ 0029 hours – 100 Block of South Avenue East

Arrested:       

Alexander Gazsi, 31, Cranford, NJ

Arrested by:  

Patrolman Antonio Bellomo

Charges:

Possession of CDS Crack-Cocaine, Possession of CDS Heroin, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Shoplifting

Remarks:        

On 11/07/2022 at approximately 0029 hours, police stopped a male on foot in the area of the 100 Block of South Avenue East.  Subsequent to a brief investigation, Patrolman Antonio Bellomo arrested Alexander Gazsi of Cranford for possession of CDS Crack Cocaine, Possession of CDS Heroin, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and shoplifting. Gazsi was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date. 

 

11/18/2022 @ 1434 hours – 400 Block of South Avenue East

Arrested: 

Thomas Walsh, 58, Bronx, NY

Arrested by:

Officer James Wilson III

Charges:

Possession of Forged Government Documents, Identity Theft, Theft.

Remarks:

On 11/18/2022 at approximately 1434 hours, police were dispatched to a business on the 400 block of South Avenue East on a report of an individual attempting to open a fraudulent account.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer James Wilson III arrested Thomas Walsh of Bronx NY for possession of a false government identification, identity theft, and theft.  Walsh was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date.

 

11/23/2022 @ 2304 hours – 500 Block of North Avenue East

Arrested:

Ashvinkum Vyas, 50, Elizabeth NJ

Arrested by:

Officer Ryan Drew

Charges:

Driving While Intoxicated.

Remarks :

On 11/23/2022 at approximately 2304 hours, police responded to the 500 Block of North Avenue East on a report of a suspicious 2014 Blue Hyundai occupied by a sleeping motorist.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Ryan Drew arrested Ashvinkum Vyas of Elizabeth for driving while intoxicated.  Vyas was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition, Vyas was issued motor vehicle summonses for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and refusal to submit to breath testing.
