Cranford Police Arrest Blotter

01/19/2023 @ 2131 hours – Raritan Road at Moen Avenue

Arrested:            

Briana Terrell, 27, Newark NJ

Arrested by:      

Patrolman Christopher Folinusz

Charges:             

Possession of Prescription Pills, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Hindering Apprehension

Remarks:

On 01/19/2023, police stopped a silver 2004 Honda for a moving violation.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Christopher Folinusz arrested the driver, Briana Terrell of Newark NJ, for possession of prescription pills, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and hindering apprehension.  Terrell was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date.  In addition, Terrell was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, driving without a license, improper turning, failure to wear a seatbelt, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and having no insurance.

 

01/21/2023 @ 0213 hours – Walnut Avenue at Blake Avenue

Charges:

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:            

On 01/21/2023 at approximately 0213 hours, police stopped a green 2010 Hyundai on Walnut Avenue near Blake Avenue for a moving violation.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Travis Freeman arrested the driver, Emmanuel Esposito of Clark NJ, for driving while intoxicated. Esposito was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition Esposito was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain lanes. 

 

01/22/2023 @ 0327 hours –The 200 Block of South Avenue East

Arrested: 

Anthony Delarosa, 22, Kenilworth NJ

Charges:

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 01/22/2023 at approximately 0327 hours, police located an idling, occupied red 2006 Dodge in the area of the 200 Block of South Avenue East.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Joshua Sousa arrested the driver, Anthony Delarosa, for driving while intoxicated.  Delarosa was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition, Delarosa was issued a motor vehicle summons for parking downtown between 0200-0500.

 

01/24/2023 @ 2041 hours – Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road

Arrested:

Ricky Carter, 42, Paterson NJ

Arrested by:

Patrolman Christopher Gross

Charges:

Distribution of CDS Heroin, Possession of CDS Heroin, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Outstanding Warrant

Remarks :

On 01/24/2023 approximately 2041 hours, police stopped a Silver 2020 Toyota on Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road for equipment violations.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested a passenger, Ricky Carter of Paterson NJ, for distribution of CDS Heroin, possession of CDS heroin, possession of CDS paraphernalia and having an outstanding warrant.  Carter was processed, provided a Superior Court Appearance Date, and turned over to the Kenilworth Police Department on an outstanding warrant.  In addition, Carter was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.  The driver of the Toyota was issued motor vehicle summonses for not having a license, failure to wear a seatbelt, view obstruction, and failure to show an insurance card.

 

01/27/2023 @ 0047 hours – North Avenue West at Lincoln Avenue West

Arrested :

Manuel Brea-Tejada, 31, Plainfield NJ

Charges :

Hindering Apprehension, Outstanding Warrants

Remarks :

On 01/27/2023 at approximately 0047 hours, police stopped a 2005 Silver Toyota for an equipment violation.  Subsequent to an investigation, the driver, Manuel Brea-Tejada of Plainfield NJ, was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants and hindering apprehension.  Brea-Tejada was processed, provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date, and remanded to the Middlesex County Correctional Facility on outstanding warrants.  In addition, Brea-Tejada was issues motor vehicle summonses for having an inoperable brake light and failure to show credentials.

 

01/31/2023 @ 0545 hours – 300 Block of South Union Avenue

Arrested :

Byron Taylor, 22, Elizabeth NJ

Arrested by :

Charges :

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle

Remarks :

On 01/31/2023 at approximately 0545 hours, police were dispatched to the 300 block of South Union Avenue on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle.  The burglary victim observed a male suspect later identified as Byron Taylor inside their vehicle, and detained him until police arrived.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Jason Ingram arrested Taylor for burglary to a motor vehicle and simple assault.  Taylor was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date. 

 

02/02/2023 @ 2209 hours – Myrtle Street at Rod Smith Place

Carlton Cromartie Jr., 26, Newark NJ

Charges :

Hindering Apprehension, Outstanding Warrant

Remarks :

On 02/02/2023 at approximately 2209 hours, police stopped a 2002 Black Chevrolet for an equipment violation.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Ryan McSharry arrested the driver, Carlton Cromartie Jr of Newark NJ, for having an outstanding warrant and hindering apprehension.  Cromartie Jr. was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended and ficticious display of license plates.

 

02/05/2023 @ 0235 hours – North Union Avenue at Linden Place

Arrested :

Theresa Seals, 38, Newark NJ ; Alix Augustave, 38, Kingston PA

Patrolman Antonio Bellomo

Charges :

Driving While Intoxicated, Outstanding Warrants

Remarks :

On 02/05/2023 at approximately 0235 hours, police stopped a 2020 Black Kia for moving violations.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Antonio Bellomo arrested the driver, Theresa Seals of Newark NJ, for driving while intoxicated and having outstanding warrants.  Seals was processed, provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date, and issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain lane.  A passenger, Alix Augustave of Kingston PA, was arrested for outstanding warrants and subsequently turned over to the Jersey City Police Department.
