02/15/2023 @ 18:56 hours – Hazel Street at Belmont Avenue

Charges:             

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 02/15/2023 at approximately 1856 hours, police were dispatched to the first block of Hazel Street on the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival officers located a 1991 Cadillac that had struck two parked and unoccupied vehicles. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Michael Gamba arrested the driver of the Cadillac, Fard Moore of West Orange New Jersey, for driving while intoxicated. Moore was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition Moore was issued a motor vehicle summons for reckless driving. 

 

02/19/2023 @ 20:38 hours – Walnut Avenue at South Avenue

Arrested:            

Ryan Gallagher, 30, Linden, NJ

Arrested by:      

Patrolman Christopher Folinusz and Patrolman Antonio Bellomo

Charges:

Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction

Remarks:            

On 02/19/2023 at approximately 20:38 hours, police stopped a gray 2002 Mercury on Walnut Avenue near South Avenue for several motor vehicle violations.  During this investigation, the driver, Ryan Gallagher of Linden New Jersey, attempted to flee from the motor vehicle stop.  Subsequently, Officer Christopher Folinusz arrested Gallagher for Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. Gallagher was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date. In addition Gallagher was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to stop at red signal, failure to wear seatbelt, delaying traffic and improper u-turn. He was released without incident.

At approximately 2308 hours, police responded to a business on the 200 Block of South Avenue East on a report of a disturbance. Officer Antonio Bellomo located the suspect, Ryan Gallagher, walking on Centennial Avenue near Cumming Street.  During the course of this investigation, Gallagher became combative with Officer Bellomo, resulting in him being arrested for aggravated assault on law enforcement and resisting arrest. Gallagher was processed and transported to the Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.

 

02/20/2023 @ 20:13 hours – Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road

Arrested:

Juan Ponce, 54, Union, NJ

Arrested by:

Patrolman Christopher Folinusz

Charges:

Possession of CDS Cocaine, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Outstanding Warrant

Remarks :

On 02/20/2023 approximately 2013 hours, police stopped a purple 1998 Hyundai on Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road for equipment violations.  Subsequent to an investigation, Patrolman Christopher Folinusz arrested the driver, Juan Ponce of Union New Jersey, for possession of CDS cocaine, possession of CDS paraphernalia and having an outstanding warrant.  Ponce was processed and provided a Superior Court Appearance Date. In addition, Ponce was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, CDS in a motor vehicle, being an unlicensed driver, having no insurance and failure to maintain lamps.
