The Cranford Police Department is excited to announce they will host their Annual Cranford Police Youth Academy Class in the Summer of 2023. The Academy will begin Monday, July 10th and conclude Friday, July 14th.

Classes run daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This law enforcement educational experience is for Cranford students completing grades 6-8. The primary goal of the Cranford Police Youth Academy is to encourage open communication between the youth of Cranford and members of the Cranford Police Department. The program allows Cranford youth to see some aspects of local, county, State and Federal law enforcement.

Applications for the Cranford Police Department Youth Academy will be available on the Cranford PD's Free App beginning May 1st at 4:00 PM. Parents are encouraged to download the Cranford PD's app today. Once the application process begins, applicants should look for the “Youth Academy” button to complete applications in the Cranford PD app.

This year's academy is limited to the first 40 applicants, who must be Cranford residents. Any additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist. There is a $125 registration fee which covers uniforms, equipment and expenses that is due upon applicants being notified of an applicant’s acceptance into the Youth Academy. Payment may be made in the form of a check or money order made out to the “Township of Cranford”.
