Early Morning Criminal Activity - North Union Ave and Forest Ave

This morning at approximately 5:06 AM, an off-duty Cranford Police Officer observed two males wearing masks and all black clothing running from Riverside Drive across North Union Avenue.  As Cranford Police Officers responded to the area, the suspect individuals were observed running into rear yards on Forest Avenue and were momentarily seen on Claremont Place.  Although an exhaustive search of the area was conducted, it is believed that they were able to flee the area.  We thank the Union County Police Department for joining in this effort to locate these suspects.

This follows a recent trend of early morning burglary attempts in which the actors access homes to steal keys to high-end vehicles.  Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the Cranford Police Department immediately.

Should you have surveillance video capturing these described individuals this morning, please contact Detective Lieutenant Spencer Durkin at 908-709-7346 or email your video to police@cranfordnj.org.
