On August 1, 2023 at 6:09 am, Patrol Units responded to a Mohawk Drive residence on the report of a motor vehicle theft. Responding officers immediately determined that the suspects made entry into the victim's home through a rear kitchen window to retrieve a key fob to the victim’s BMW. The suspects then walked through the victim’s home to the front door, took the key fob off of a key hook, and stole cash from the victim's wallet before leaving with the victim’s vehicle. The victims were home at the time of this burglary, which occurred at approximately 4:00 am. Video surveillance confirmed that there were at least three suspects involved in this event.
Residents are encouraged to be vigilant in locking not only their vehicles, but also ensuring that their homes are secured during overnight hours. Also, check that your security cameras are operational.
