11/11/2023 @ 0101 hours– North Ave at Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange

Arrested:        

Fredrick Womble, 26, Roselle, NJ

Arrested by:

Charges:         

Possession of CDS

Remarks:

On 11/11/2023 at approximately 0101 hours, police stopped a 2015 Toyota on North Avenue after Officer Antonio Bellomo observed that the driver was having difficulty maintaining its lane of travel.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Bellomo arrested the driver, Fredrick Womble, of Roselle NJ for possession of prescription narcotics. Womble was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date.  In addition, Womble was issued a motor vehicle summons for Failure to maintain lane, CDS in a motor vehicle and Suspended Driver.

 

11/12/2023 @ 22:54 hours – Walnut Avenue at Blake Avenue

Cliffie Thompson, 36, Brooklyn, NY

Charges:

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:        

On 11/12/2023 at approximately 0207 hours, police observed a 2023 Volkswagen Black BMW on Walnut Avenue parked on Walnut Avenue with the driver asleep behind the wheel. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Ryan Drew arrested the driver, Cliffie Thompson, 36, of Brooklyn, NY for driving while intoxicated. Thompson was processed and provided a Municipal Court Appearance Date.  In addition, Thompson was issued motor vehicle summonses for refusal to submit breath samples, careless driving and for having an open container of alcohol within the vehicle.

 

11/13/2023 @ 18:47 hours – Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road

Arrested:

Royston Stewart, 55, East Orange, NJ

Charges: Possession of CDS- Cocaine and Heroin

Remarks :

On 11/13/2023 approximately 18:47 hours, police stopped a 2012 Dodge at the intersection of Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road for equipment violations. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Christopher Gross arrested the driver, Royston Stewart of East Orange NJ, for possession of CDS cocaine and heroin. Stewart was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Stewart was issued a motor vehicle summons for no front license plate, improper turn, failure to wear seatbelt, CDS in a motor vehicle and being a suspended Driver.

 

11/25/2023 @ 21:35 hours– Makatom Drive at Beech Street

Leshchenk Vladyslav, 27, South Amboy, NJ

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 11/25/2023 at approximately 21:35 hours, police responded to the area of Makatom Drive for the report of a leaving the scene motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Officer Ryan Drew met with witnesses who advised that a vehicle had just sideswiped multiple parked vehicles and fled the area. Officer Drew subsequently located the vehicle a short distance from the scene and upon investigation placed the driver, Leshchenk Vladyslav, 27, of South Amboy NJ under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.  Vladyslav was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date.  In addition, Vladyslav was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.

 

11/27/2023 @ 00:02 hours– Raritan Road at Moen Avenue

Vanessa Velez, 33, Newark, NJ

Charges:         

Possession of CDS- Ecstasy

Remarks:

On 11/27/2023 at approximately 00:02 hours, police stopped a 2013 Ford on Raritan Road at Moen Avenue after Officer Travis Freeman observed that the driver was having difficulty maintaining its lane of travel.  Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Freeman arrested the driver, Vanessa Velez, 33, of Newark, NJ for an unrelated traffic warrant and for possession of CDS- Ecstasy. Velez was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date.  In addition, Velez was issued a motor vehicle summons for CDS in a motor vehicle.

 

12/03/2023 @ 20:47 hours– First Block of South Avenue

Sumat Robinson, 50, Newark, NJ

Charges:         

Hindering Apprehension

Remarks:

On 12/03/2023 at approximately 20:47 hours, police responded to a business on the first block of South Avenue for the report of a shoplifting. Officer Freeman was provided with a description of the suspect and subsequently located an individual matching the description a short distance away. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Freeman arrested Sumat Robinson, 50, of Newark, NJ for Hindering Apprehension. Robinson was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date.

 

12/04/2023 @ 03:10 hours – Walnut Avenue at Blake Avenue

Charges: Possession of CDS-Ecstasy

Remarks :

On 12/04/2023 approximately 03:10 hours, police stopped a 2009 Porsche at the intersection of Walnut Avenue at Blake Avenue for failing to maintain its lane of travel. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Travis Freeman arrested the driver, Joey Baez of Roselle NJ, for possession of CDS – Ecstasy. Baez was processed and provided a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, Baez was issued a motor vehicle summons for Failure to maintain lane, Unlicensed Driver and CDS in a motor vehicle.

 

12/04/2023 @ 18:33 hours– 300 block of North Avenue

Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:

On 12/04/2023 at approximately 18:33 hours, police responded to a business establishment located within the 300 block of North Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival Officer Antonio Bellomo arrested the driver, Samuel Fayemi, 19, of Newark, for driving while intoxicated. Fayemi was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date.  In addition, Fayemi was issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to report a motor vehicle accident, Underage DWI, and failure to produce credentials.

 

12/06/2023 @ 16:00 hours– First Block of South Avenue

Remarks:

On 12/06/2023 at approximately 16:00 hours, police responded to a business on the first block of South Avenue for the report of a shoplifting. Responding officers were provided with a description of the suspect and subsequently located an individual matching the description a short distance away. Subsequent to an investigation, Officer Courtney Meyer arrested Joseph Bates, 59, of Newark, NJ for Shoplifting. Bates was processed and provided a Municipal Court appearance date.

08/02/2023 @ 16:00 hours– 400 block of North Union Avenue

Burglary and Theft

Remarks:

On 08/02/2023 at approximately 16:00 hours, police responded to a residence located within the 400 block of North Union Avenue for the report of a residential house burglary. Upon arrival Officers met with the victim who advised that an unknown individual(s) had broken into their home while they were at work and stole numerous personal items. As a result of an extensive follow-up investigation by Detective Jason D’Agostino the following two individuals were charged with burglary and theft: Larry Wade, 42, of Somerset, NJ and Elmer Zuniga, 22, of Plainfield, NJ. Both were issued Superior Court date appearances.

 

10/10/2023 @ 13:40 hours– 100 block of Centennial Avenue

Charges:         

Burglary, Theft and Stolen Credit Card Offenses

Remarks:

On 10/10/2023 at approximately 13:40 hours, police responded to the 100 block of Centennial Avenue on the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the victim advised that an unknown individual(s) had entered his vehicle and removed his wallet which contained U.S. currency and credit cards. The stolen credit cards were subsequently used to attempt to purchase numerous items at a business establishment in Linden, NJ. As a result of a follow-up investigation by Detective Robert Jordan the following individual as well as a 16-year-old Essex County juvenile were charged with burglary, theft, and credit card offenses: Rene Alcindor, 24, Newark, NJ. Both were issued Superior Court date appearances.

 

11/01/2023 @ 15:17 hours– 600 Block of Raritan Road

Theft By Deception

Remarks:

On 11/01/2023 at approximately 15:17 hours, police responded to the 600 block of Raritan Road on the report on the report of a fraud. Upon arrival the victim advised the responding officer that she had hired a residential contractor in November of 2022 to conduct a project on her home. The victim paid for the job in advance however multiple attempts to contact the contractor to begin the project and/or refund the money has been unsuccessful.  As a result of a follow-up investigation by Detective Dan Donnerstag the following individual was charged with Theft by Deception and issued a Superior Court date: Freddy Contrerasabreu, 34, Elmwood Park, NJ.

 

11/21/2023 @ 07:00 hours– 100 block of North Union Avenue

Craig Frazier, 38, Lauderhill, FL

Charges:         

Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief

Remarks:

On 11/21/2023 at approximately 07:00 hours, police responded to the 100 block of North Union Avenue on the report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival the victim advised that an unknown individual(s) had smashed her vehicles rear passenger window and stole her purse while she entered a local business establishment. The purse contained U.S. currency, drivers license, personal articles as well as numerous credit cards. As a result of a follow-up investigation conducted by Detective Dan Donnerstag the following individual was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief: Craig Frazier, 38, Lauderhill, FL
