Roadwork To Affect Daily Commute on Lincoln Avenue from Thomas St to High St Starting Tomorrow 09/15/2022

September 14th, 2022 3:36 pm

The Township of Cranford has been advised that road infrastructure projects will begin tomorrow, Thursday, September 15th, 2022.

Affected roadways include THOMAS STREET (between South and Lincoln); LINCOLN AVENUE EAST (from Severin to Centennial) and LINCOLN AVENUE EAST (from Centennial to High). Milling on the aforementioned roadways will begin on Thursday morning, followed by paving that should be completed by Tuesday September 20th, 2022. There will be DETOURS on LINCOLN AVENUE at WALNUT AVENUE.

The Police Department has requested that road closures begin after school arrival times to mitigate traffic congestion. In spite of that, motorists should expect delays in the daily commuter hours and plan accordingly. Police Officers will be at these locations supervising the road closures. Schools, residents and businesses have been issued notices by the company contracted by Elizabethtown Gas to complete this road resurfacing.

We have also been advised that paving will be occurring in the Industrial Park on COMMERCE DRIVE and JACKSON DRIVE. This roadwork is confined to only one side of the road, but delays can be expected during construction due to temporary alternating traffic patterns. Motorists should leave ample travel time during these affected days
