GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Jan. 29, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Gaines Township. 

On 01/29/2021 at 1:45 PM, deputies responded to the Lake Michigan Credit Union, located at 6206 Kalamazoo Ave SE. The suspect entered the bank, implied a weapon, and demanded cash from the employees. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s’. He was wearing dark-colored pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, sunglasses, and a yellow winter hat with a fluffy ball on top. Four pictures of the suspect from the bank’s surveillance video are attached.
