BYRON Township, Kent County: Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids evacuated after a bomb threat.

On 06/22/2020 shortly before 2:00pm, officers from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids, located at 350 84th St SW, after receiving a bomb threat with vague details. 

Per Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids’ protocol regarding bomb threats, the entire facility was evacuated by their staff.

An Explosive Detection K9 Team from the KCSO responded to the scene and conducted a search of the facility. Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids re-opened the facility after nothing suspicious was located during the search. 

Detectives from the KCSO will be further investigating the incident.
