Incident Type: Car/Pedestrian Accident 

On  7/30/19 at 12:28 PM the Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident at Byron Center Ave and 72nd Street SW in Byron Township, MI. 

Initial investigation  revealed  that a 16 year old boy from Byron Center, MI crossed Byron Center Ave at 72nd Street on foot and was struck by a 2017 Honda CRV driven by a 31 year old female from Zeeland.  The boy was transported to Devos Childrens Hospital with serious injuries.  There were no injuries to the occupants of the Honda CRV.  Alcohol was not a factor.  There is no traffic light or cross walk at Byron Center Ave and 72nd Street.

Byron Fire Department and  AMR Ambulance assisted at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
