The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car vs pedestrian crash which occurred at 2240 hours on Tuesday, 9-17-19 in the area of 28thSt SE east of Charlevoix Dr SE.
A vehicle occupied only by a female was eastbound on 28thSt SE east of Charlevoix Dr SE. The vehicle hit a pedestrian in the roadway wearing dark clothing. The pedestrian victim is an 18 year old male from Grand Rapids, who was transported by Life EMS to Butterworth hospital where he remains in critical condition from an apparent head injury.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash. Cascade Fire Department responded to the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
