Incident Type:  Fatal Accident 

LOWELL Township, Kent County - Shortly before 5:00 a.m. deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3000 Block of Lincoln Lake Ave.  Responding personnel arrived on scene and found the passenger of the vehicle unresponsive and the driver with minor injuries.  Resuscitiation efforts on the passenger were unsuccessful.  

Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was travelling southbound on Lincoln Lake Ave when it drifted over the centerline, crossed over the northbound lanes, and left the roadway before striking a driveway culvert.  Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash, however the accident remains under investigation.  

Deputies were assisted by Lowell Fire and Rockford Ambulance.  The driver of the vehicle was transported to United Memorial Hospital in Greenville by Rockford Ambulance.
