On 06/01/2019 Deputies responded to a two car crash at the intersection of Peach Ridge Ave NW and 21 Mile Rd NW in Tyrone TWP. Initial investigation showed that the vehicle eastbound on 21 Mile failed to yield right of way and struck a vehicle traveling northbound on Peach Ridge. The 74 year old driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle refused treatment at the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Next of kin has been notified. The accident remains under investigation. Personnel from Rockford Ambulance and Kent City Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.
