ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 1, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office arrest father for child abuse against 5-week-old son.

On 01/23/2021, the baby, Lucas Owen Combs-Lampman, was brought into Helen Devos Children’s Hospital with bleeding on the brain as well as rib fractures. The injuries were believed to be non-accidental and were consistent with being shaken.

The investigation conducted by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services revealed that the father of the child, Kyle Combs (21) of Alpine Township, was responsible for the injuries. On 01/26/2021, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office issued a Child Abuse 1st Degree warrant against Combs. He was later taken into custody on the charge.

Lucas remains in serious condition at the hospital.
