KCSO Arrests Six Juveniles Involved in Vehicle Larcenies in Gaines Township

October 31st, 2022 12:24 pm

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich:  Just after 11 pm on Saturday October 29th, the KCSO received calls of teenagers wearing ski masks trying to open vehicle doors in the 6500 Block of Madison Ave SE.  KCSO deputies arrived in the area and located a vehicle occupied by three people and a fourth person ran away as deputies approached.  A KCSO K9 Unit arrived and was able to track down two additional suspects hiding in the woods.  A third suspect eventually surrendered to deputies in the area.  The vehicle being used by the group was found to be stolen out of the City of Wyoming and all six suspects were found to be juveniles and lodged at juvenile detention.

Two 16-year-old males, two 14-year-old males, one 15-year-old female, and a 16-year-old female were all from Grand Rapids.  The apprehension recovered several items of stolen property from neighborhoods in Byron and Gaines Townships.  The KCSO reminds the public to lock their vehicles if left outside and remember to remove credit cards, cash, and electronics from the vehicle if at all possible.

If you have information that could help to move the investigation forward, please call the KCSO at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
