KCSO Arrests Subject For Assaulting Woman at Aldi - Alpine Township

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 30, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office arrested a subject for assaulting a woman at Aldi in Alpine Township.

On 07/28/2021 at 10:02 AM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4101 Alpine Ave NW on an assault report. The female victim was approached in the parking lot by a male holding a knife and demanding that she exit her vehicle. The victim screamed and kicked at the suspect, which allowed her to shut the car door and lock it. 

KCSO investigators identified Andrew Jay Boyle (55) from Grand Rapids as the suspect. On 07/30/2021, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office issued the following charges on Boyle:

  • Unlawful Imprisonment
  • Criminal Sexual Conduct – Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault)

On 07/30/2021, Boyle was arraigned by Magistrate Milroy of the 63rd District Court and is currently being held at the Kent County Correctional Facility on a $100,000 Cash Surety Bond.

Boyle was paroled on 03/02/2021 for two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration out of Lapeer County.
