GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich:  Yesterday, a juvenile petition was authorized for charges of Explosives - Possession with Intent to Terrorize against a 14-year-old East Kentwood Student.  This stemmed from the student lighting off fireworks in a bathroom of the East Kentwood Freshman Center on Monday, October 31st.  The KCSO Communications Center received 911 calls of shots being fired at the freshman center and deputies arrived on the scene in under three minutes.  Just prior to arrival school security staff were able to determine that the noise was a result of fireworks.  The school has worked alongside investigators to interview those involved and the incident was reviewed by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office.
