KCSO Investigates Fatal Car Crash Involving Motorcycle - Alpine Township

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (May 22, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred in Alpine Township. On 05/22/2021 at 11:45 AM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car vs. motorcycle car crash on Fruit Ridge Ave NW near 7 Mile Rd NW.

A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on 7 Mile Rd NW when it failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a northbound Honda CR-V. The driver of the motorcycle, Alvin Marble (69) of Grand Rapids, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Honda CR-V, a 71-year-old woman from Allendale, and a passenger, a 78-year-old from Allendale, sustained minor injuries.

Alpine Fire Department, Life Ambulance, Kent County Road Commission assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
