NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich:  At 5:30pm this evening the KCSO responded to a two vehicle crash along 17 Mile Rd NE near
Shaner Ave NE.  A dump truck and SUV collided head on. A 76 year old Cedar Springs man died at the scene.  Kent County Deputies are currently investigating the crash with the assistance of the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division. Contributing factors to the crash are still under investigation, however no citations have been issued.   The Cedar Springs Fire Department and Rockford Ambulance are also assisting at the scene.  17 Mile Rd is expected to be closed for some time as deputies continue to work the scene.
