PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich:  Just before 1:30pm the KCSO responded to a serious injury crash at Plainfield Ave NE & Vineyard Ave NE.  A Buick sedan was attempting to cross Plainfield Ave from Vineyard Ave and was struck by a Ford SUV.  The driver of the Buick was a 90-year-old female from Grand Rapids and died as a result of the crash.  The driver of the Ford was a 30-year-old male from Grand Rapids who suffered minor injuries.  The Ford had a 5-year-old and 3-year-old child in the backseat who were uninjured.  

The crash remains under investigation by the KCSO Traffic Unit.
