PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 18, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and garbage truck.

On 02/18/2021 at 10:04 AM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5300 block of Circle Dr NE after a pedestrian was struck by a commercial garbage truck. The victim, David Steiner (79) of Belmont, was transported by Rockford Ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
