KCSO Investigates Personal Injury Car Crash - Plainfield Township

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 12, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a personal injury car crash in Plainfield Township.

On 07/11/2021 at 4:00 PM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Plainfield Ave NE and Mark St NE on a two-vehicle car crash. A northbound Chevrolet Tahoe crossed the centerline and struck a southbound Lexus SUV. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 35-year-old male from West Virginia, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. A 10-year-old child in the vehicle was not injured. The driver of the Lexus, a 52-year-old male from Grand Rapids, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Plainfield Fire Department, Alpine Fire Department, and Life Ambulance assisted at the scene. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, awaiting toxicology results of the at-fault driver.
