SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich:  At 10:17AM the Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash along Fruit Ridge Ave NW north of 14 Mile Rd NW.   Sparta Township Firefighters were on a training exercise and came upon a vehicle which was on fire after crashing into a tree.  Firefighters immediatley started rescue efforts and were able to extricate the driver from the vehicle.  The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was transported to Spectrum Butterworth.  The crash remains under investigation at this time.
