October 12th, 2022 4:32 pm

NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich:  Yesterday, KCSO detectives conducted a search warrant on Oak Lane in Nelson Township, recovering 40 firearms and thousands of dollars in stolen property.  This was the culmination of an investigation that started in August after several storage units were broken into around Kent County.  The pair behind the thefts is a 30-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Cedar Springs.  Both have been arrested and are in custody at the Kent County Jail.  Investigators believe the two are responsible for at least 15 burglaries.  The Kent County Prosecutor's Office issued the following charges this afternoon:  Conducting Criminal Enterprise, Breaking and Entering a Building with Intent, Possession of a Stolen Financial Transaction Device, Larceny of a Firearm, and Safe Breaking.  Detectives are continuing to investigate the case, return the property to the owners, and identify any additional victims.

If you have information that could help to move the investigation forward, please call the KCSO at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
