PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Oct 22, 2020) - On 10/19/2020 at 3:12 PM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious injury accident on Plainfield Ave. NE near 4 Mile Road NE. A motorcycle, driven by a 22-year-old Grand Rapids man, was northbound on Plainfield Ave NE when it hit a Toyota Camry, which was turning eastbound into a parking lot. The driver of the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition. He was taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. The driver of the Toyota Camry was not injured. There were no other passengers on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.  

The cause of the crash is still being investigated. Speed is a factor in the crash but alcohol is not believed to be involved.
