Serious Injury Accident - Spencer Township

On Tuesday July 30, 2019 at approximately 1700 hours the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 18 Mile Rd and Meddler Ave NE (Spencer Township) on a single vehicle/single occupant pin-in accident. The vehicle was headed eastbound on 18 Mile Rd through the curves west of the intersection when it crossed the center line and ran off the north side of the road into a tree. The driver of the vehicle, a 59-year-old female from Cedar Springs, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital via Aero Med. Initial reports showed that she had head, chest, and leg injuries, but was alert and talking to Aero Med medical personnel as she was being transported.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Aero Med, Spencer Township Fire Department, Montcalm Township Fire Department, and Rockford Ambulance. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time.
