Kent County Emergency Management Update 9/11/2019 8:45 p.m. Storm Response/Power Outages:

This evening's storms produced several brief radar-indicated tornados.  The most severe weather has been located from Walker, along the I-196 corridor to the Grand Rapids Township and Cascade Township area.  At this time we are not certain of the extent of the storm damage, however, the most recent reports show approximately 20,000 Kent County residents without power.   Residents with non-emergency storm damage who need assistance are asked to call United Way 211 to be connected with resources.  If you have an emergency and need help, call 911.  Kent County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service will be out tomorrow (9/12/19) to assess storm damage.
