Incident Type: Single Vehicle Property Damage Crash

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Jan. 14, 2021) -  On 01/13/2021 at 11:54 PM, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to 6504 S. Division Ave in Gaines Township on a vehicle that crashed into a business building.

A utility truck, driven by a 24-year-old male, was traveling southbound on S. Division Ave when it veered off the road and struck the building. The crash caused significant damage to the building. There was concern that removing the vehicle would cause further damage to the building, so the vehicle was left in place until it could be safely removed.

The driver was the only occupant and sustained minor injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.

Cutlerville Fire Department assisted with the crash.
