UPDATE February 20, 2019 2:30 p.m. Autopsies in this investigation are complete and Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified thefollowing individuals and determined their manner of death: Alaina Rau (2) – Homicide Cassidy Rodery (6) – Homicide Kyrie Rodery (8) – Homicide Aubrianne Moore (28) - Suicide Evidence shows that Aubrianne Moore committed homicide against her 3 biological daughters with a bolt action hunting style rifle at the scene located in the 300 block of 19 Mile Rd NE. The homicides occurred in a wooded area behind the residence. After the shooting, Aubrianne loaded the children into her vehicle, drove them home to the 200 block of 19 Mile Rd NE before turning the gun on herself outside of the vehicle. Sheriff LaJoye-Young will be available for one-on-one interviews at 4:00 p.m. at 701 Ball Ave NE.
UPDATE February 19, 2019 4:30 p.m. We can confirm that the second crime scene has been located in the 300 block of 19 Mile Rd NE on a wooded piece of property not far from where the victims were located. Investigators are processing the scene now. We thank the residents who called in with tips on the Buick Century, and no further assistance is needed regarding sightings of the vehicle. If media would please remove that request from your published stories it would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, we have learned that autopsies will commence tomorrow and official identification of victims will follow.
UPDATE February 19, 2019 – The search for the second crime scene continues today, and we would like residents in the northern portion of Kent County to be aware that they may encounter investigators and volunteer searchers who may be in cars, off road side-by-side vehicles, or on horses. The Michigan State Police Aviation Unit will also be flying a helicopter in the area looking for any evidence. Autopsies are being conducted today and possibly tomorrow.
