Update - Both Suspects in Custody - Armed Robbery at Mobil Gas Station - Algoma Township

UPDATE 9/9/19:  Both suspects are now in custody.  Brandon Gilley (left), a parole absconder, was arrested late last week and has been charged by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office with Armed Robbery and Possession of Methamphetamine.  Gilley and Morris are currently in the custody of the Kent County Correctional Facility and are awaiting trial.


UPDATE 8/30/19:  The picture below shows both suspects, prior to the armed robbery, entering a local business.  While the person on the right is in custody, subject on the left with the blue short sleeves and baseball hat is still outstanding, and investigators are asking for the public's help to identify him.  During the armed robbery, the individual in question was the person wearing a hooded sweatshirt/jacket.  If you have any information that could help, please contact Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.

 


UPDATE 8/28/19:  One suspect has been taken into custody in the Jackson area after investigators followed-up on a lead that eventually directed them to the suspect's location.  Detectives contacted the Michigan State Police who were able to locate the individual and take him into custody.  The suspect is identified as Daniel Morris (35) of Newaygo.  Morris has been charged with Armed Robbery by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office and the second suspect is still outstanding.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Silent Observer, safely and anoymously at 616-774-2345.


ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich:  On 8/22/19 at shortly after 1:00 a.m. Kent County Sheriff Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Mobil gas station located at 3620 14 Mile Rd NE in Algoma Township. Employees reported that two suspects entered the store, one of them armed with a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. The suspects took an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes and then fled in a silver Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck. The suspects were described two white males, both approximately 6’ tall with slender builds. Both suspects were wearing dark jackets and blue jeans and had their faces covered by bandanas.
