WALKER, Kent County: Multiple public safety agencies respond to child drowning at local park.

On 07/01/2020 at 6:30 PM, officers from the Kent County Sheriff's Office and Walker Police Department, along with the Grandville Fire Department and Life EMS, responded to a possible child drowning at Millennium Park, located at 1415 Maynard Ave SW. All agencies were involved in resuscitation efforts. The child, a 6-year-old female from Grand Rapids, was transported to Devos Children’s Hospital by Life EMS where she was pronounced deceased. The name is not being released pending family notifications.
