UPDATE on 03/09/2021 at 4:40 PM: On 03/09/2021, deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office conducted a follow-up search in Plainfield Township for missing endangered person, Richard Drayton. During the search, Richard’s body was located near the area of US-131 and 7 Mile Rd NE. There appear to be no signs of foul play, however, the official cause of death is pending the autopsy.

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Jan. 27, 2021) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Richard Drayton (43). Richard was last seen on 01/25/2021 at 10:00 AM walking away from his residence in Belmont.

Richard is a white male, 5’8”, 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing an oversized dark fleece-lined hooded jacket and possibly gray sweatpants. Multiple pictures of Richard are attached to this release.

There is no indication that Richard is a threat to himself or others. He has health issues that require daily medication.

Anyone with information on Richard’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
