INCIDENT TYPE: Animal Forfeiture
LOCATION: Louisa County, VA

Narrative:
On Thursday, March 25th Louisa County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Deputies, along with several other agencies responded to an address on Louisa Rd, where they met with the property owner about some of the dogs on their property. The property owner voluntarily released a large number of dogs on his property to our animal control deputies.
While on the scene our deputies had the occasion to view several Jack Russell’s terrier dogs inside of the home and noted that their condition would require the medical services of a veterinarian. A search warrant was then executed on the home and our animal control deputies seized a total of 16 dogs that were taken into custody.
The investigation into this incident continues. If you have any information about this case, contact the Sheriff’s office at (540)967-1234.
