Narrative:

Louisa, VA - Louisa County Sheriff Donnie Lowe is pleased to announce the launch of our agency’s new mobile app as another way to connect with the residents and visitors to Louisa County.

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) app was initially thought of as a new means of communication between citizens and law enforcement for our new LCSO SHIELD initiative, but it quickly was seen to be a great way to help in finding resources and navigating through public safety information.  LCSO SHIELD will launch at the beginning of the year, but the Mobile App is available now.   LCSO believes that these two initiatives will invigorate the citizens of Louisa and allow them to actively participate in our approach to community policing.  To Download go to the App Store or Google Play and search for “Louisa County Sheriff’s Office” with this logo.

This app was designed to answer a lot of questions when it comes to Public Safety.  In just a couple of taps on a cellphone, users can:

  • Submit a tip
  • Join SHIELD to get alerts, notifications, and breaking news about major incidents in our area and around the U.S.
  • Begin receiving up to date information about road closings, hazards, and areas to avoid
  • Get notifications and reminders
  • Do an inmate search for someone incarcerated or in jail
  • Check on court dates in General District or Circuit Court
  • See the Most Wanted
  • Get a list of Sex Offenders in your area
  • Get Public Safety Phone Numbers
  • Apply to Join the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office
  • Get Crash Reports
  • Read the latest news and learn about upcoming events
  • See the Most Frequently Asked Questions to our Agency
  • And So Much More…

Over 95 % of Americans own a cellphone of some kind, and over 80% of those are smartphones.  Technology has transformed the way law enforcement functions and by providing the LCSO App, we provide citizens with quick access to information from an official source and we take information-sharing and communication to the next level.  Mobile Apps allow law enforcement and public safety agencies a better way to alert, inform, and prepare the public during good times and bad at a place most citizens partake, in on their cellphones.

“We are extremely excited to officially release the LCSO App”, says Sheriff Donnie Lowe, “This app provides us the platform to build a whole new level of information sharing with the citizens of Louisa County.”
