In the early morning hours of July 16, 2025, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Patrol Section responded to reports of an armed robbery that had occurred at a private residence in the 200 block of 8 Street SE, Medicine Hat.  Officers quickly located and contained the suspects who had fled to a residence in the 000?block of 11?Street SE. 

The investigation was continued by the MHPS Major Crime Unit, and a subsequent search warrant was executed, resulting in the recovery of five stolen firearms along with the personal items taken during the robbery.

Resulting from this investigation a 34-year-old male has been charged with sixteen offences, including robbery, break and enter, and multiple firearms charges. The accused remains in custody as the investigation continues. 

The investigation has determined this to be a targeted incident. The MHPS remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and will pursue all leads until this case is concluded.
