On June 17, 2020 at approximately 10:45 PM members of the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a report of a dispute in the area of Sundown Road SW. The complainant advised that a male had been assaulted with a baseball bat, was badly injured, and required medical attention. Police and EMS attended the scene and located the 33-year-old male victim. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police investigation revealed that a 20-year-old male had fled the area prior to police arrival.

Further investigation by MHPS resulted in grounds for an arrest warrant for a 20 year old Medicine Hat man identified as Chandler Messenger. Messenger is described as 5’9 (175cm), 180lbs (82kg) with hazel eyes and brown hair. Messenger is wanted for Assault with a Weapon, Assault causing Bodily Harm and Mischief Under $5,000.
