On October 14, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian at the intersection of Dunmore Road SE and Carry Drive SE.
The investigation determined that a car was attempting to turn left from Dunmore Road SE onto Carry Drive SE when it collided with a truck travelling eastbound.
Following the collision, the truck spun within the intersection and struck a traffic light pole. The pole prevented the truck from striking a nearby pedestrian. However, an unsecured air compressor and other items were ejected from the box of the truck and struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was transported to hospital for further assessment and treatment. The drivers and occupants of the vehicles were not injured.
Damage to the vehicles and surrounding infrastructure is estimated at approximately $30,000.
The collision remains under investigation.
