On October 24, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM, patrol officers conducted a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle the 500 block of 10 Street SE.  The occupant was found to be in violation of a court-imposed 24-hour curfew and was arrested for breaching these conditions.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a GSG semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle and controlled substances.  As a result, Marshall Kilcup (24 years old), of Medicine Hat, has been charged with the following offences:

•             Careless storage of a firearm

•             Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm

•             Knowing possession of a prohibited firearm

•             Possession of a firearm in a vehicle

•             Possession of a controlled substance (two counts)

•             Failure to comply with a release order (three counts)

The accused was held for a judicial interim release hearing and has been remanded into custody.  Kilcup is scheduled to appear before the Medicine Hat Court of Justice on October 28, 2025.
